How many members are in the CCChoir?
Our choir now has more than 30 members.
What is the application process to join the CCChoir? Is there any application fee?
There is no application fee for applying to join the CCChoir. Just fill in application form.
To be a member of the CCChoir, is there any membership fee or other fees?
After accepted by the choir, member will need to pay a annual member
fee of $30 to cover expenses of purchasing music scores and
administration.
When is the CCChoir practice time? Where will be the location?
The choir practises on every Tuesday from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
We rotate our practice location approximately every 6 months between
various churches.
Is there any age restriction for joining the CCChoir? Does it require any prior experience in choir singing?
There is no age restriction for joining the choir, and it does not require any prior choir experience; but all applicant must pass our audition and interview.
What type of music will the CCChoir sing?
The choir will select a combination of traditional and modern music.
The main language will be in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Who will be leading the CCChoir?
A group of brother and sisters, with heart and gift of music and from
six different churches, has formed the planning committee of the
Edmonton Chinese Christian Choir. Stephen Tam will be our conductor.
What is the different between the CCChoir and a church choir?
The CCChoir is a "self initiated" joint choir, it does not belongs to
any church or organization. Brothers and sisters who have gift in music
and utilize their experience in the CCChoir to help the music ministry
in their own church.
In the plan, the CCChoir will have regular concerts and training
programs. Most church choirs sing in the form of worship services; but
the CCChoir spread the gospel through concerts.
Comparing to church choirs, the CCChoir will put more emphasis on
training of musical technique and way to express music pieces. That
will enhance the level of choir members and offer more quality music to
God.
Is the CCChoir a non-profit organization?
The CCChoir has not obtained the status of non-profit organization yet.
However, our long-term goal is hope to be able to issue tax receipt for
offerings.
Where is the funding of the CCChoir coming from? How can I offer to the CCChoir?
Our funding comes from annual membership fee, offering and sponsorship.
Please note that the CCChoir will not be able to issue any tax receipt for offering at this stage.
